Europe Day 13: Tuesday, May 22 (Last Day)
Today's our last day! We went back to the Sagrada Familia area in Barcelona since Cristina hadn't gone yet. We did some last day shopping, and I finally got the espadrilles I'd been searching for!
I really didn't have a lot of Euros left, but when we stepped into Sant Pau Recinte Modernista, an old hospital (till 2009), I sacrificed the rest of my "good food" money (that was to be spent on yummy paella) to get in. And I'm so glad I did because it was probably one of my favorite architectures I've been into. I counted Palau dela Musica Catalana and this place as my top favorites; I didn't realize that both locations had the same architect—Lluis Montaner. I loved both so much because of their bright pastel mosaics and tile work!
Yani kept mentioning La Boqueria Market where there was cheap fresh fruit, seafood, and other yummy goods (pretty sure this location was in the Amazing Race). Everything looked amazing; I almost did get my paella after a guy gave me a discount (because he liked Filipinos, lol) but it was vegertarian, and this girl needed some meat. A cup of mango juice and a giant pizza calzone won my heart though😋!
Yup, when I get home, I'm so going on a diet😅.
