PBC Prayer Letter Leadership Week
Hi, everyone! I'm actually in Utah right now. For the rest of the summer, I'll be Pioneer Bible Camp's AV and public relations manager (video & photo). Pioneer Bible Camp (PBC) is a Christian camp whose goal is "to introduce people of all ages to Jesus Christ as Savior and to disciple and encourage believers in their Christian Walk." Starting this weekend, every other week or so, I'll be updating you about what God has been doing here at camp.
This week was staff training week and although a bit exhausting, I learned so much about my position. The first moment I saw Utah, I knew I was about to get stretched. The campsite is in the mountains (elevation of almost 6000 ft) with swirling dust everywhere, no electricity in the cabins, and for the first few days, because they didn't realize the hot water was turned off, we had to shower in freezing cold water! Despite having to come out of my comfort zone and regular heart rate (due to the regular uphill climb😅), I'm truly enjoying PBC!
When I flew in last Saturday, I was excited to meet everyone and make new friends. I was also looking forward to doing my best in bringing a lot of social media attention to PBC, since I have my own photography business, I shoot photos for school, I helped bring attention to a school organization, and all that. However, when I met everyone, I got a bit nervous and the next day, God decided to remind me that I still needed to trust Him, no matter how much I think I'm good at public relations. Being told that I was also responsible over the light and sound booth and realizing that each week, I have to shoot and edit photos and videos in just 4 days was a humbling experience. I knew nothing about stage management, but God has allowed me to learn quickly while being encouraged by my fellow staff members.
My prayer each day is to encourage those I come across, but here, they are the ones encouraging me! Next week is teen week, and I'm excited to see what God has in store. Please pray for the coming campers, new counselors, and visiting mission team that is helping with camp next week.
